Missing Picture

Here is the picture of James that I tried to put on my other post.
L-R James, Dan, Brian, Shawn

Yesterday I got to work at the warehouse for another 5 hours, and I loved it. I got so much accomplished, and was even under a deadline that I thought was a little impossible... but somehow we pulled it off! Whoo hoo!

Just a little insight into how genius Capri is - she had to be disciplined the other day, then minutes later she looked at me with a very sweet face and said " Mommy, you can't spank me because Jesus took the punishment". I was astonished at how she took this information and used it appropriately... but promptly explained that Jesus says that she needs to obey her mommy and daddy. James explained it even further at bedtime that night. Here's what I love about it... she was thinking about Jesus, whether she got it completely right or not. She wasn't being nasty about it, or telling me I was wrong. She said it in sort of question form, with no meanness behind it. I often feel like I'm not telling my kids about Jesus enough, but in this instance I was so glad to hear her say His name... and have Him in her mind.

This weekend we are off to a leaders retreat in the mountains. It should be good, I'm looking forward to it. And next week is Capri's last day of Preschool. I can't believe it's been a year already! She's grown so much from being in that class, and her teacher is awesome at allowing Capri to be Capri- imaginative and all.  JD will have the same teacher in the fall, and I'm glad for it. She's just awesome. She has such a love for kids, and for Jesus, and is so sweet and kind.

Anyway - I've got to get off and get our day going... I don't know what we'll do, maybe library? maybe park? It's gotta be something because JD is FULLLLLLL of energy and staying home is not gonna cut it.

  1. wow...I can't believe she has got that good of a grasp that Jesus takes our place in punishment...it WAS brilliant....she really is a little genius...haha And your right, she was obviously thinking of Jesus...your doing something VERY right....I'm glad you got another day of work in, that is great she uses you like that...I'm also glad Scuffy gets the same teacher...I loved when my kids got the same one and I was soo familiar with all her ways etc....the library sounds great...I've got Joe's kids today and I actually contemplated that...I LOVE the kids section in the library....but I was afraid of how Cody might be and I could be in over my head with 3 of them. haha Lindsey is here too as she is already finished with school for the year. We made oatmeal nut bars instead, but I don't know how they will be. I had to improvise as I didn't have all the exact ingredients...haha I'm sure they will get eaten.....Have a good day!!
