This weekend....
Some of the leaders....
Lauren, Me. Lauren will be ministering to the High School girls this summer, and interning at the church. She is just WONDERFUL.

The guys in the kitchen on the first nite. Weird tid bit of info: They wear black socks. I have never seen guys wear black socks. That would just not happen in Jersey, at least as I remember it.
Today:
I had so much to do today. It started out with a 7 am grocery store trip, to get cookies for the new neighbor and for Capri's end of the year school picnic. I picked up a few more items, got home then baked the cookies (thankfully James helped me, otherwise they would've been burnt), got everyone ready including myself, then drove to drop Capri off with James for the picnic. I also dropped off bags of baby clothes for a friend whose having a girl while bringing Capri to James. Then I squealed out to the church parking lot at 10:20 to get to Donatella's doctor appointment at 10:30....which was at least 20 minutes away. JD got drug along to the appointment too. We get to the appointment late, but it was ok, since we're fast patients. The pediatrician knows me well, so we don't have much to talk about unless there is a problem. He tells me Tella is literally OFF THE CHARTS for her weight 17 lbs 9.4 oz... so think of it this way, put a hundred babies in a room and Tella is heavier than all of them and then some! Hilarious! He wants me to start food with her, I don't see that as necessary at this point. She still has an average head, and her height is slightly above average.

Anyway, I then tear out of the appointment to rush back to the church to make the last few minutes of the picnic. From there I go to my mom's, handle some business on the computer. Then I leave the two older kids there and go to the mall to pick up gifts for her teachers (bath and body works sale! whooo hooo!). I get the kids, come home, clean up, make some important phone calls, make dinner, do some laundry. Then thankfully James comes home. He takes care of the kids while I work on some business for the travel agency. Then I speed off to the store for the last few items I need for the gifts. Then I go to Henry's for some produce, bathe the baby, put the presents together, and here I am. It's 9:40pm. Am I done? No. I haven't gotten to the list of things sitting on the counter. I'm so tired my eyes are crossing, literally. All of this business comes on the heels of a weekend away where I stayed up very late to be with the group of leaders we took to Arrowhead. It was so fun, but I'm so tired. James is already in bed.
Tomorrow promises to be crazy too, but not as crazy as today. It's Capri's last day of Preschool. Next year she'll be in Pre-K. Suddenly she seems huge.
I'm exhausted. How would I accomplish all this if I had a real outside job to do? I wouldn't. There are times when being a stay at home mom seems like a sentence, and there are times when I wouldn't have it any other way. I praise the Lord that He has made me resilient, given me the strength to take on each task and day that comes at me. I praise the Lord for my kids, and I PRAISE the Lord for my husband. I praise the Lord that I get to stay home.
wow....and I will say it again....wow....some days are just crazy like that....that's why "young" people have kids, haha....I'm glad the week-end went well, glad you got to go to at least some of the picnic, glad Tella is doing sooo well, haha, and glad you got soooo much done. And I will join you as you praise God for your kids, your husband, your home, and the ability to do what you have to do and stay home with your kids...and I praise God for you too!! Love you, have a GREAT day....
ReplyDeleteI am exhausted just hearing about that day! i know it sounds trite, but someday you will miss all of this rushing around with little kids in tow. Time goes by so quickly! I am very glad that you do get to stay at home and be a full time mom.
