Today we went to the San Diego Zoo to visit the new Elephant Odyssey. It has been so hyped up around here I thought we should see it for ourselves. We don't trek down to the zoo often because it's HUGE, hilly and kind of far from our house. But we went. And, well, I give it a B+. It's not an A because they attempted to have "play areas" for the kids, but those were severely disappointing- except for the giant sculptures, those were good. The elephant exhibit is pretty amazing... that was done really well.
Capri has been asking for a while to get her face painted, but at sea world and the wild animal park it costs like $20 - which I find outrageous. So when we got home from the zoo today my sister painted her face like a butterfly and Capri was in heaven. She looked at herself in a handheld mirror for like an hour. Literally.
Sounds like a fun day. Capri looks adorable..the look on her painted face says how happy she is with it....See, your sister could make a fortune just painting faces....20 bucks IS insane, haha...And Scuffy looks like he is really into that lion.I was sooo perky when I got on this morning and there was a fresh one from you....I would have probably never heard about your zoo day otherwise, this is perfect....I am assuming your sister Trish, is she here?? Or was it Gabby??? Have a good day...love you mom
ReplyDeleteCapri looks darling with her butterfly face! Katie is always wanting that too, and though I have let her a few times, most of the time I am the wet blanket telling her "it's just going to wash right off". When I think of it now how mean of me, may she be a kid?
ReplyDeleteDo you know my kids have never even been to the zoo! How tweaked and demented is that! We Will be going at any moment...
Those giant animals look cool. Jackie would love them. I love going to the zoo, myself. As for the face painting....$20. bucks is ridiculous! Capri looks happy and cute with her "new" face! It looks like JD is looking right into the eyes of that lion.
ReplyDeleteGabby was the one that painted her face, pretty good huh?
ReplyDeleteJD was looking right in it's eyes. He was wild on the day, I even lost him for a few seconds... he just wanders right off and doesn't think twice about it. 15 seconds and 12 heart attacks later there he was just around the corner watching the elephant movie they have playing, again.
Oh Scuffy....he is sooo like his daddy...I've told you the story of him in the store...there one minute, gone the next...and me running hysterically down the aisles...they are just sooo fast...Gabby did a good job!! who all went to the zoo??
ReplyDeleteMy mom, My aunt from NJ and me and the kids went.
