I graciously accept..

a lovely award from my new friend Kristi at Rush Hour. I don't know if it's really an award, or more of a "tag", but either way I accept.
Here is my award:

which requires that I lay out 10 pieces of info about myself, and to nominate 10 bloggers too... but I don't personally know 10, so I'm just gonna honor the first half of the award. Here they are, the facts about me, the info you always wanted:

  1. I hate technology. Seem silly for a girl with a blog to say? Maybe. But I hate it. I hate computers, cell phones, ipods, video games, etc. I feel like they are little "life suckers" and infringe on my life much too frequently. I think they take too much of the "personal-ness" out of our lives. Now clearly I use these things, which might be somewhat hypocritical. I don't mind them in moderation (sometimes), but I'd like to go backward in technology instead of forward. Call me a hypocrite, go ahead.
  2. I have a handsome husband. A really, really, really handsome husband. We're going on our 9th year of marriage, and he just keep gets better looking. And with this handsome husband, I have a really handsome son, and two gorgeous girls.
  3. I'm serious about Jesus, and what He did for me. Do I need to expand here? This should be #1.
  4. I'm in a perpetual state of hair crisis. I don't ever know what I like. Wish I had a style that I just stuck to, but I don't. Or maybe even a color that I knew was just right. Jessica does my hair, and does it so well. If I could only hire her to do it every day I think my hair crisis would disappear.
  5. I think my kids are awesome. Capri is intense, unique, imaginative and extraordinary. Those really are the best words to describe her. JD is the cutest boy on earth. He's rough, wild, and huge. In my eyes he can do no wrong (which presents a small problem when he harasses his sisters). He melts my heart. Donatella aka Tella, Tell-Tell, or Tellarina is just WILD. Don't let her big blue eyes fool you. She's pushy but sweet, and rough but lovey. And the girl just can't resist a good book.
  6. I like plain clothes, not attention getting outfits. I do like to look nice though. See, I might like plain clothes, but I love LOUD, obnoxious, crazy, non-matching purses. Oh, and shoes.
  7. I'm Italian, and grew up in South Jersey. Love, love, love south jersey and italians. I have a bit of my accent left, and I like it. I feel like it makes me a little more interesting. I also love greeks, can I sneak them in here too? I have lots of greek friends that are awesome and I just love the food!
  8. I have to have something to look forward to. If I don't I start to lose my mind and get weird. Usually I like to look forward to traveling since it's my favorite thing to do. Right now I am looking forward to visiting Jersey in June. Something I'm not looking forward to? Kindergarten. Just in case you were wondering.
  9. I'm not very intense or high maintenance. I don't need a whole lot. Except water. I can't go without water. But something tells me you can't either.
  10. I love to cook. I love to cook Italian food. I love Giada de Laurentiis because she loves to cook Italian food. She's my hero. And that handsome husband I referenced earlier got me all her cookbooks. (except for the newest one, but it's new. so I'm sure it's coming my way at some point)

Hope you enjoyed, thanks for reading!

  1. MLOL... very entertaining. That was your point, wasn't it??? Your hubby and kids are great. One surprise was how you feel about your hair. I think it always looks wonderful. I do agree about the kindergarten thing. Life is changed forever when the school years start. You have had a taste of it with pre school, but things intensify with kindergarten. You guys will do great with it!

  2. Oh how I enjoyed this! I just love these lists...Now let's see...I can't say I hate ALL technology, but certainly most of it. My most recent beef? CONSTANT texting, haha...As for your handsome husband? Known that for years, haha...and Capri, JD, & Tella? Just don't get any better...And your hair? I am kind of with Di here. I LOVE your hair. But, I can soo idenitfy with NEEDING Jess on a daily basis. Wouldn't that be wonderful? As for Kindergarten? I do know how you feel. Certain things will change forever more, and this will bring it's own set of challenges. But it will be fine. And trust me, one day, not long from now, you will look back and wonder how you spent soo much time concerned about it at all. As for your cooking?? I LOVE IT..... = )

  3. Wow...I've always seen you as more like your dad...but as you get older, I think we have a lot in common. I won't text...and I forget to turn on my cell phone. I too am very serious about Jesus. I'm not into clothes....but it has to be the right shoe. I just told you Disneyland would be great in May so we would have something to look forward to!! I am not high maintenance....sometimes I feel simplicity is sacred.
    OHHHHHH
and I love that you love to cook. I wish I would have spent more of my life developing this gift for my family. There are sweet spiritual rewards from serving the ones you love.
    This was great Larissa!!!
