Better than a Birthday cake?

Turning 30 is a big deal. James turned 30 today.
I wanted to make it special.
Hence, the surprise party I threw with my mother in law. That was REALLY special.
We had the party a few weeks before his actual birthday so he wouldn't see it coming.
It was great. But, I had one more surprise up my sleeve to help us celebrate as close to the actual day as possible. It had to be monday since we don't really see him on Tuesdays and he was leaving early today (weds) to go camping.
So Monday afternoon I picked this up.
I ordered it a couple of days before.
He ripped right into it. And this was his reaction:
And this is what it was.
See my finger for scale.
A three pound doughnut.... they call it "Texas Style". Had I been able to picture what 3 pounds of doughnut looked like I would've maybe ordered a little less. A LOT less. We could've slipped the doughnut over the baby's head and had her wear as a necklace. It was E-NORM-OUS. Ridiculous. But special!
I think he was happy.....

Better than a birthday cake? I don't know.
But definitely special!
Happy 30th birthday to the LOVE of my life!!!!

  1. Oh Larissa I LOVE IT!! It is soo Jimmy...hahaha I know he loved it too. What a good idea. JD looks pretty pleased too. A Class male for sure. I don't know if I would have survived with a GIANT doughnut in the house though. haha Way too weak. I didn't even talk to him yesterday. = ( I called him a couple of times but he didn't answer. Probably driving the first time I called, and the second was around 7 so I am thinking "maybe" teaching or something...Anyway, I did leave a message and a facebook message too, so hopefully he knows I tried. I STILL love that we soo got him on that party. Good times. I think James is a lucky guy to have a wife like you. You sure made his day special. I love that he is the love of your life btw. Your 30 next now, haha...but a few months more to go. See ya tomorrow.

I have never seen a 3lb doughnut...wow. What a fun idea, I didn't even know they made them that big. Cute pics and darling family. Happy Birthday to the hubby.
