Easter Friday, more commonly known as Good Friday
We colored eggs....
Notice a chipmunk that snuck his way into the picture?
Easter Saturday
On Saturday we went over to see my dad who is fresh off the plane from Sudan. We also seized the opportunity to go for a swim, and JD learned a new skill. He's now going under with goggles! He was getting all the way under and swimming around and was wildly proud of himself. He kept exclaiming "I'm going under the sea!"

We did our easter baskets on Saturday because James is gone on Sunday morning. After they searched around they were ecstatic with their finds. Daddy did the basket shopping this year and went big! Whoo hooo!
Capri got the Strawberry Shortcake swimming pool!

JD was THRILLED with his basket & prize... he got video games!

Tella woke up from her nap and got her basket. She was still a little sleepy.

Tella's tummy was bugging her, so I gave her applesauce and let her feed herself. She got wild with it! At least she was having fun, right?

Easter Sunday
Tella in her lovely pink overcoat.

Capri chose her shoes, I chose not to fight her. Doesn't she look beautiful?? I blew her hair out last night so it would be strait and bouncy... love it when it looks like this. now if it just wasn't so much work to have it always look like that.......

I took a zillion pictures to get a good one of the three of them before they got changed and played outside. Not one of the zillion was good. This was the best I could do. The background is bad, but at least they are all semi-looking and not crying.

The hunt!

Tella didn't care much for the hunt, but she did like her bucket!

JD liked the one with money!

Capri got a ton of eggs...

For dessert we had giant costco cupcakes..... pretty good.
Then, we had a lovely earthquake. A 7.2 if I'm not mistaken. Wow did that change the mood. It was only the second earthquake I've ever really experienced. I know it was a first for my kids and my grandmother that just moved here from NJ a year ago. NJ has it share of bad weather - a hurricane, noreasters, maybe a tornado or two.... but fires and earthquakes are unique to this side of the country. Hard to say which is better to live with.... Anyway, no damage around here, but it sure was unexpected! As I'm sure all earthquakes are..... ha ha!
We came home with an exhausted mommy and daddy, mildly tired older kids, and an over-exhaused, maxed out baby. Poor girl was a mess, she was even running a little fever. I put her to bed at 6:30.
Disclaimer: Upon further review of this post I noticed that it appears that we feed our baby junk. Several pictures show her with cheetos, peeps, and a chocolate bunny. Please note that these were "special treats" and her normal diet does NOT consist of these things! Thank you!
Beautiful family...beautiful memories you guys are making.

WOW...I am soo impressed that these pics are already up. And soo perky...I feel like I kind of lived these fun times with you...kind of... OK, let's see...first, the egg coloring looks fun. It was the first time in 35 years we didn't color eggs. =( Seemed kind of weird, but I can't eat eggs and figured my head wouldn't stay out of them if they were there. I love egg salad. Then, the swimming looked fun too. The goggles are a great idea, and JD's remark of "swimming under the sea" was hilarious...Swimming sounds like fun, but it was soo cold here Sat...is your parents pool heated? I LOVE the pics of the kids in their Easter outfits. The one of the 3 of them was REALLY good I thought. I stole it... =)...Capri looks sooo pretty. It was especially good of her, though the other two look adorable too. Loved JD's vest and the girls matching dresses. The Easter egg hunt looks fun. Little Tella looks soo sweet. OH..and I am NOT surprised Jim went big on the Easter baskets. After all he is his father's son. And it does squeel dad, haha...Missed seeing you all for sure, but it does look like such a good day. The earthquake was fun huh? I imagine you guys felt it a lot more than we did, and it was scary enough here. OK, think I've covered it all. Thanks for getting these up soo quick. Love ya...mom
ReplyDeleteOH, and in case anyone else reads this I am vouching for Larissa's feeding of her kids skills. haha They ALL eat lots of veggies and fruits and milk...lol
ReplyDeleteThese pics are great! I love seeing how you all spent the day. The kids look darling and it looks like they were having a lot of fun. I think the one of the three of them came out really good. Min and I took her three kids for pictures a couple of weeks ago and I felt like we had been thru a war by the time we were done. Trying to get everyone even half way looking at the camera was a push!
ReplyDeleteHi Larissa,
ReplyDeleteYour kids look so cute in their Easter dresses and handsome outfits.
That earthquake was scary. Got my heart racing, and I went running around to find both my kids!
Hope your eye is better!
Hi Larissa,
ReplyDeleteDarling post. Your kidlets are the cutest little things. Great festivities (except the earthquake, it was a big one) and looks like great fun.
BUT! There was apple sauce, too! I'm so over having junk in teh house- the candy for every holiday thing is getting old. The kids look adorable, Larissa!
ReplyDeleteThis seriously cracked me up, especially the little disclaimer at the end. LOVE it!! That picture with the chipmunk made me laugh out loud too. You are funny girl!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great Easter with your family and the kids all looked so cute!! I love Capri's hair! So pretty, good job Mama! I hate trying to get pictures of kids together and smiling, it's like almost impossible!! And you have 3 to have to try to get to cooperate!!
I know I say this every time but I sooo enjoy your posts. I was roaring on the chipmunk sneaking into the picture. Yes, your kids are DARLING. At the risk of sounding old, (which I am) ENJOY these times! It surely sounds and looks like you do and you'll love yourself for all of the pictures you have to remember it all by.
